Here are some items you should consider taking to Costa Rica on your upcoming trip.
Please remember to pack lightly. If you are traveling on any flights within Costa Rica, the baggage restriction is 25 pounds per person (about 11 kilograms).
Insect repellent
Waterproof sandals
Plenty of sunscreen (SPF8 or higher)
A pair of lightweight long pants and a long-sleeved shirt for sun and insect protection
A hat for sun protection
Camera, batteries and extra film (these are expensive in Costa Rica)
Waterproof camera for any rafting trips, snorkeling or diving (however some tour companies provide photography services for a reasonable fee).
Travel alarm clock that does not need electricity
Lightweight sweater or jacket for San Jose
Sturdy shoes for any hiking trips
Binoculars for bird and monkey watching!
An umbrella (June - December)
A lightweight rain jacket
A small Spanish dictionary
Plastic Zip-loc bags for wet clothing, bathing suits and shoes
Leave formal clothing, expensive jewelry and cellular phones behind! Pack lightly for your convenience. Most people pack too much.
